In the Department of Geography and Environmental Studies students learn about physical, social and environmental phenomenon within Israel, the Mediterranean and throughout the globe.

Students gain a broad range of knowledge, research skills, and technological and practical tools, such as GIS and remote sensing.

Students get personalized study options, including classroom lectures, online courses, experiential field trips, and practice in departmental labs learning to use state of the art equipment and technology.

Several different undergraduate and graduate study programs are offered within the department.

The department hosts a variety of research and teaching labs as well as specialized research centers.

The department also publishes Horizons in Geography, the only Hebrew language geography academic journal.
